Introduction

Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi (abbreviated Texas A&M–Corpus Christi, or TAMU-CC, or A&M-Corpus Christi, or A&M-CC) is a state university in Corpus Christi, Texas, United States, on Ward Island in Oso Bay. The university is part of the Texas A&M University System.
Discover the Island University, the only university in the nation located on its own island, at the heart of the Texas Gulf Coast. With palm tree-lined pathways throughout the campus, nearby natural wetlands, a scenic hike-and-bike trail and a pristine view of the beach and bays, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a first-choice institution.

Welcome to ‘The Island University’

The area’s premier institution of higher learning enrolls more than 12,000 students and is part of The Texas A&M University System.
A&M-Corpus Christi’s location on the Gulf of Mexico and on the cultural border with Latin America shapes its focus and provides the foundation for gaining national prominence.
The Island offers more than 250 days of sunshine, a Gulf breeze, and mild weather year-round.
Our five academic colleges offer bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from highly accomplished faculty, 90 percent of whom hold the highest degree in their fields.

Welcome to Islander Housing!

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi offers two distinct housing communities to meet the diverse needs of all Islanders. First-year (freshman) students are not required to live on-campus but it is strongly recommended. Students who live on-campus for at least one year are more active in campus events and activities, create a better support network, have a higher GPA, and are more likely to graduate on time than students who live off-campus.
Students who want to live on-campus at either of our communities must submit a housing application. Future students must be accepted to TAMU-CC before applying for housing.
Miramar is the perfect option for first year students and those who want a more traditional on-campus housing experience. There are 7 residence hall and apartment floor plans to choose from, 9 month academic year leases (with the option to sign a summer lease) and it’s just a quick walk to everything on the Island. Miramar is designed with community spaces to encourage student interaction, expand relationships, and support your academic journey.
Momentum Village is the best option for established students who want the benefits of on-campus housing and the feel of off-campus living. It is located on our Momentum Campus, just steps away from athletic and intramural fields, and features apartment and townhome floor plans with 12 month leases (August-July 31). Residents have their own master bedroom and access to group study lounges and recreational activities to support and enhance your college experience.

Activities

As an TAMUCC student, you will be part of a lot of events: Homecoming, Islander Revue, Aloha Days, The Big Event, Islander Lights, Ring Wish, and many more.
The student sport teams include: basketball, baseball, tennis.
